OK. I guess he doesn't want to sell it?

Anyone know who bought Travis's old 2 that was on carsales?

Ideally I'd like to buy another early Evo 1-3.
previous owner of Travis' old car if you want to get in contact with him https://www.facebook.com/allan.maccaul?fref=ts

wait for a car with a yellow personal import plate, iirc the only one on carsales is the white 3 in NSW

Sorry mate not on FB.

Yes I definitely want another yellow plate, like mine.

I thought the White 2/3 hybrid was yellow plate?

Anyone know any history of the white 3? Given the knowledge on this thread and the limited number of cars, it would be hard for an early girl to avoid our membership since the old yahoo board days!

The black E2 is yellow plated. Not sure about the white one. It says it is rego'd but that don't mean shit. LoL. If it don't have a yellow plate in the engine bay I wouldn't touch it.

So the White RS is no good for NSW either. VIC is ok for REPVs though.

That silver one has been forsale for yonks. Obviously something wrong there too.

Bring on next year when we can start to bring over 100% legal Evo 1s.

I think the first car I bring over will be a Cyborg R. Can't wait to AWD one I even have the floorpan and rear end parts ready to go...

Thanks guys. Appreciate your help with the info. Yes its a shame that there are so many dodgy rego'd early evos. I'm only after a yellow plate and would pay the right price for the right car through.

Was Travis's old 2 a yellow plate? If so then I guess ~$16.5k is the benchmark value for a top condition car.

The black 2/3 has a 240km speedo, so who knows how many kms it really has done. Its also not factory colour.

Yes the silver one is interesting. Not in NSW though, so likely a rebuild.

Problem is that there are very few good condition early evos left in Japan. So even if the laws here change, its not like there are a boatload in Japan to suddenly import. Add on top of that places like the US that also have a 25 year rule. They have a 25% advantage over us on the currrency!

Japan isn't the only source of early evo's ... Nz has a few forsale on trade me all the time. I'm not sure how you would go about getting them here but it us where I would look rather than Japan...

Sure, but if you look, most early ones in NZ are trashed.

The import rules would be the same as for any other country.

In some respects, the ones here might be the best looked after. We have a good climate, no salt/rust, and people valued them here as they were rare and relatively expensive.

Holy crap that white one is clean as. Seats and wheel look new.. thats been well looked after, im not a massive fan of sunroofs myself but i could overlook all that based on how tidy the rest is

Big question about Japanese cars is wind backs. I wonder how a couple of those cars can have such reasonable kms for a 20yo car but yet the plastic handbrake cover is completely f*cked.

Hi guys only new to the site and am thinking about buying a cc gsr, im located in adelaide and have found there really isnt much around. But i did meet a guy probably 18 months ago on a cruise here in adelaide and between himself and a mate said they had quite a collection of gsr's im just wondering if he is on this page or if any ones k ows of any for sale. Why not get one already 4WD? You want a CC4A Mirage Super R.

The handbrake handles are fucked on every car. It's the bolsters on the drivers seat and wear on the steering wheel that I look for the most. Also the ODO numbers that are misaligned. Dead giveaway

Mine seems to be ok! LOL

Thanks - interesting picture. I'd heard of that trick, but not seen actual pictures. Another sign I look for is any evidence of the plastic face of the speedo being scratched etc that may have happened when the speedo cluster is removed and / or replaced with a lower km one.

Agree on the seat bolsters. Steering wheels and gear knobs are harder, as a lot of people changed them. Obviously that could be to hide kms.

That said, so many of our cars have had engine rebuilds for various reasons! LOL

EDIT: 240km speedos in a JDM car are a give away too! That yellow plate 2/3 hybrid has that...

Cheers man. Never know there was a Super R AWD... I know there were some that are AWD but from what I had seen they were all more like povo pack ones....

I'll. keep that in the memory bank... But AWDing a genuine Cyborg-R still appeals to me...

Again, thanks man....
