Evocoupe.net is coming to an end.

Help Support 4GTuner:

There is a heap of great info over there. Some great builds and some sad stories.
I think i have read most of the old pages over there except in the last 12months. It was one of the inspirations for me to sell my wrx brumby and get a jumbuck.
It is true the internet is a huge wealth of knowledge sharing, in the same way, so much gets lost at the flick of a button.
I suppose it goes back to the way it was before the net. A smattering of gurus that remember doing it way back then.
i only realized recently, there is so much info around, it is impossible to know very much about everything.
Im building a patch loom for a e9 ecu in the ute and learning more of the wiring nuances. After fiddling with the ute for 4 odd years i realize that is pretty much 1/2 of a degree, if it was a accredited subject. Maybe a waste...

anyway, i digress.
sad to hear evocoupe is finishing up. Was a good little community.

bummer....

are you saving the info somewhere?
I will have to see if I can download the files from the web host. I should be able to backup the lot... never done it before but I'll look into it.

The engine and wiring conversions are the most important and I think they've already been copied over to here.
Also AWD conversions, FWD 4G63T conversions and the like should be in here too.
If not, most of the boys are already members on here and they are great at imparting knowledge onto others.
Joining the communities together is the way to go.
I will be paying membership/ give a donation to 4GTuner every year to play a small part in keeping this site up and running into the future.

True Shayne. I remember Mikey (NERVIS) spoke a lot about you back in the days. I believe you guys are still friends on FB too.
That's what it's all about - mateship!
The guys we've met along the way online, on the phone and in person at meets or during for sale transactions is what the community spirit is all about.
I can tell you to f*ck off now and you'd laugh and get stuck right back into me. But if I didn't know you from a bar of soap, I'd get a totally different response lol ;)

Yes indeed - Mikey and I would talk for ages about our cars and all sorts of other shit that was going on in our lives at the time and even though we've only caught up in person once, I still think of him as a best mate. evocoupe.net was also how I met Jason (ccglxi) who I also consider a best mate even though we don't catch up as frequently as we used to and he's sold his coupe and focusing on his house and family (why do we have to grow up!?) I even met your brother Mikey when he crashed at Jason's place once on a trip down here.

I feel very lucky to have been a part of evocoupe.net from the early days and to have not only been able to enjoy my car more because of it, but because of the great mates I've made, met and am still yet to meet!

You've done a great job with it Rob - you should be very proud.

Oh - and f**k right off yourself! :p

i can honestly say if it wasn't for evocoupe.net and the should e call it bad unfluence of rob and mikey i would be here i wouldn't have the coupe (likely would have moved onto something else) i came into the site relatively late but still early enough to catch the real knowledge power houses. and credit the site with the inspiration for everything on the car today.

it's sad to see it go but all good things must come to an end and the cc coupe comunity IMO is now down to the die hards and the crazy's

Where is NERVIS these days? I remember the short shifter he made for my old Galant VR4. Was such a good mod!

Did he ever get his car back that was stolen?

Nah he never got the car back :(

Mikeys still around, last time i spoke to him be was all into 4wd'n etc

Hes a family man now :D

I still have his short shifter in my coupe

He's living out in the sticks in Ootha, Central NSW. Throw a dart to the middle of a map of NSW, right where it looks like there's fuck all around it, and Mikey will be around there somewhere lol
