Yeah thats about right...
My old GSR, rallyants ran 104mph with 160awkw, would weight bout the same as yours.

Mates GSR went 113mph with 210awkw.
Another mates went 115 with 225awkw.

Oh and 13.1 at 108 is slower than 12.something at 110. And you've only got "183awkw" and your vr4 was "240awkw".

The sums don't add up. Unless you're working in inverse logarithmics.

As you stated before you dont know Anything about drag racing, mph or what not that goes with it.

If you work it out.. 13.1 at 108mph.. the mph tells you that its in the low 12 zone (on a good launch).. its running good trap speed. An 108mph would suggest that the VR4 had over 210AWKW at the wheels which i believe to be tru. It was dyno'd on the dyno used at Melbourne Auto Salone (XTC dyno, dyno dynamics).

The Vr4 was dyno'ed with 21psi on a PTE SCM61 turbo. However when it was raced i had problems with it and it only managed to achieve 17/18psi on its run down calder.

So since your doing your engineering course Lawrence tell me this.

Wat does 108mph equate to into hp, in a car that weighs around the 1450kg mark.

Being that there's about 16 other factors that go into the equation there is no straight "function" that will give you a HP/KW figure.

Dynosheet or ban. :p
 
hmmmm something doesnt sound right.... u got basically 190AWKW from a stock turbo 560cc injects and what else mines ecu? cooler and cams.... u ran a 12.4?

jamie has stock everything from the evo2 i assume he had it boosted when he ran down the track and he ran the same time.... so surely with ur ecu injectors cams bigger cooler u would run alot more..... 190kwaw is alot of power... so what psi are u running about 20-25 atleast to get that figure

madevo runs 16psi and made 206awkw and that isnt stock... so for what mods u have said it doesnt make sense... appart from u boosted the shit outa it...

You have no idea at all of what your talking about. Best way to find out if the dyno is reading high or low or spot on is to take it down the track and take the trap speed from the run.

Obviously you dont know how much power you need to run a 108mph in a car that weighs around 1450kg (3100lb). You have no idea about anything to do with drags or trap speeds as you have stated already. I have no idea why you keep coming back with stupid remarks.. its all just a waste of time.

How bout you take a car first hand that has run a 108mph + and tell me how much power it needed to run that sort of trap speed. Once you do that then maybe we can actually talk on the same page.

End of story..

Jamie's car has a Unichip ecu which has been TUNED for his car.. my car is not tuned for my injectors or boost nor injectors!!!! Not to mention his car is a freak of a motor.. and he or myself are unsure if it is actually stock or not.

Im running 20psi aswell. If you dont believe me.. book it into the same dyno i got mine run on.. and we'll see what figures u get..

so in theory when i put the rs ecu that has been chipped for 510's and evo maf... running my td06 big frount mount and 20psi... i should be looking at around 200 mark?

My motor in my evo has done about 5000km.
Stock front mount

Iono if you will get that sort of power with the mods you have, but i guess its up to how good that chip is.

Mind you that turbo ur bro has kyp made 242kw on 19psi with it!!!! So id be looking at his ecvu and tune.

Cant wait to start posting some dyno sheets and times when i get my motor up and running! Will be awsome to see what power i can get out of the stock ecu with a tune.
 
kyp also has a fully rebuilt engine with everything forged..... madevo i think made around the 215-220 mark on 18psi but the turner turned it down as the sound wasnt good.....

wolf3d is the ecu... it needs a better tune yes it running hell rich and the bottom end tune is pretty pathetic....

ohh and i do believe alex has the next model ujp from kyp's on 16psi it has ALOT more to give....

whats forged got to do with it? forge has nothing to do with power.. its about longativity!!! Forged will allow you to run more boost..

Kyps motor is a 1.8!!!

as said.. my AFR is reading off the scale so when its sorted id take it bak to the track then bak to the dyno.. im hoping to see around 200kw at the treads.

by putting boost in doesnt alwayz mean power..... a forged engine means u can run more boost yes.... but with the engine forged u cant... not without blowing it up??

if u wanna debate about it go look at heaps of worlshops in vic.... there theory consists of boosting the shit out of the car to produce power.... thats all good and well until it blows up..... our mechanic has had many of other shops cars come to him coz they have ran 25psi in the vlt mate and it cant even do a wheel stand..... boost is good but u gotta have the supporting mods to allow it to work effectivly....

madevo doesnt have forgies.... so 210awkw is all he would run safely... plus its a road car.... if he goes forgies... he will prolly run 300awkw easy... becoz that means he can run 25psi safely and know its going to handle the power....

soz thats worded bad.... jon said that forged engine has nothing to with power... all it does is make it stronger and able to run more boost.... correct me if im wrong but running more boost generally creates power???

so how does that work... engine rebuild has everything to do with making power......

U could have rods and pistons that are made out of titanuim.

TUNING is the key word.....

If the bloke who is tuning you car hasnt gotta a clue then ur in trouble
