Catch up Jamo... Russian pussy, asparagus eating cat. Fuckn hell, it's like we're talking a different language to you eastern state lads. Next you'll be asking why the popper was in the port next to the bubbler.

bring that fart box down here...I have a couple of exhaust kicking around we can rob a resonator off. that will tone down the fart

Running two resonators already Brian. Just need to whack in a good oval. The section over the rear x member is to hard to do at home, bends and twists and turns, and needs to be 2 3/4 to match the rest. Metters job.

Well, with the end of the rallysprint series it's time to get the car prepped for The targa events. First thing I've started on was the diff swap back to AYC, and I have a couple to pick from which came with the cars purchase, but I dont know their history. So in the spirit of KillerWatts Racing DIY theme, got to work stripping one of them. Well ****** it is too.

Big hole in the pinion side of the housing was the first clue to an issue

So took the case off and this fell out

I took a guess it came from here

Stripped it down to the planetary gear set which looked somewhat unhappy

Stripped that down and found this

I thought long and hard but figured a DIY fix for this would dodgy even by my standards. So the hunt is on for a new planetary gear set and housing, you know it's going to cost a bomb when you google it and find nothing. Might hit up mr TMR for oem or sell a kidney and get a cusco centre (Running really low on kidneys but). Clutch pack side looks ok, no issues I'm bothering with here

I will take the RS diff out tomorrow and put the s-AYC I know is working ok back in and hopefully give it a run on Sunday at a club thing. Bleeding these things on a X is a black art, and after a week of searching, I still have no idea how to do it without at MUTT device. So the very DIY plan is to set up a couple of tubes off the left and right bleed nipples, plug it into a small sealed container, hang it off the bottom of the car somewhere and go for a drive with the nipples cracked open. GoPro set up on live feed back to the iPad to monitor what's going on. Dodgy as **** but unless anyone else has some ideas? Evoscan doesn't work on X's for bleeding, and the throttle to the floor thing only does the ACD apparently.

I'll do some pics of the RS when it's out. Interesting to see what's gone wrong with that one too.

It is good fun Mio, whole lot less stressful than tarmac rally! Still plugging away with the tuning side of things, I am hunting through the .bin to try and find a few of the look up tables. Some of the changes I have been making to the maps have been having odd results due to not having corresponding changes to the look up tables. but getting there slowly. Mr Merlin is having a look at some stuff too, he reckons he has some stuff from years ago on the Pajero, but as busy as he is, i keep plugging away myself. I did find out off him what the go was with that extra data you found at the start of the .bin file though, he reckons the newer version of ecuflash doesn't deal with unknown rom's very well, so told me to go back to 1.43.300 and it worked sweet. Good info if you ever see that again.

That's good mate.
I still use new version of ecuflash but with this kind of problem all I do is I open the bin in hex editor program that you can get free from net and I delete the first section of bin where ecuflash wrote extra while saving the read bin.
see picture. The bin for your car should be 8000 bits so what ever it wrote extra over 8000 you delete from beginning. Hope it make sense. When I get some more time I'll be going through the bin to see if I can find anything else.
