Round 2 !!!!

ok Back again for round 2!!!! "Ding, Ding"

When I was driving today (under power at 4000rpm in 2nd) I lost spark AGAIN!!! same as before with it miss-fireing under boost/load.
But could drive the car off boost fine.
So I took out the plug to reval something.
My plug gap from 1 of my plugs had closed up to at almost touching the electrode only being .2 off.
What would cause that???
The car has PLENTY of fuel now I'm running 2 pumps and it wasn't pinging at the time. (And never has)
I didn't even get to hit full boost when it happend.
I got a new set of plugs and is running swet again.
But it's got me thinking why it happend..... :?

You bought new plugs? Did you regap the old ones to see if that was the problem?

I wouldn't use iridium plugs - full stop.

Be careful running BPR7es plugs as they are for vr4's, Evo's have a different head design, hence the different plug called up in the NGK catalogue.

I still dont know why the gap was smaller on 1 of the plugs, like it had been pushed in. :?
Has anyone had this happen on their car?

mate of mine has a VR4 with 16G setup etc..basically an E3.

when running 20 pound the thing would miss horribly up top..

took a punt,gapped the plugs to 0.48-0.5...(close i know)

missing went away..was possibly blowing spark out

runs nice now.

The ONLY reason why I have (Had) a miss up top was cause that 1 spark plug had been "Pushed in" making the gap almost non-existant hence it having a miss-fire cause it couldnt get enough spark cause the gap was too small.
What would make a plug to move like that? (As in push in the electrode in)

ive heard of that before..

didnt J-Style do that once at the strip..??

there is a thread i remeber where people on here where discussing it.
maybe heat range of plug etc..?

I think I remember Jon talking about it a while ago now.
I've done a search on it & couldn't find anything.
I'd like to know what caused it.
