hey guys,

when i get my new rocker cover, i have to give it a paint...

i'm wondering what the best way to polish the letters "DOHC" and the rest.

is there something i should apply to them before painting it so that paint doesn't stick to those areas?

can I just paint over the lot and hit it with a sander later?

mat

just paint over the letters. then hit it with a angle grinder with a sanding disc attachment. then a buffing wheel with an alloy compound

what colours do you guys reckon would look good?

i was thinking a bright metallic blue?

or maybe black wrinkle, red wrinkle or grey wrinkle?

you would be suprised, but yer um........ red, black, silver, gold have been done soo be different and suprise us!

it's just that the car isn't really that "bling"

i think a really over the top rocker cover would look a bit strange, but i could be wrong!

id paint it first then get some 600 wetanddry sand paper, sand it then use 1000 grit then 1500 then 2000 and polish it! it sounds like a long process but its not its actually quiker cos ur starting with something fine!!!!

I want something like this, a rising sun. The only rice thats going to be on my car :D

that doesn't look too bad!
nice manifold! :D

i really wish i could get blue wrinkle paint! I've confirmed that VHT don't make it anymore

well i've got blue sillicone hoses at the moment, and the factory lines are black, my catch can is black...

so i was thinking either black or blue might be good...

olly, i was going to have a go at it myself, and if it all goes pear shaped ill strip it and take it somewhere :)

you mean the whole rocker cover, or just the spark plug cover?

i have an aluminium spark plug cover on the way from JM Fabrications :)
