There is two types of tension pulleys. One is smaller and fits rvr and late evos, the bigger one is what I got and made a nice cut on plastic cover and then I heated it up and pushed it out to accommodate bigger pulley.

ps: when I say bigger I mean same diameter but wider. ;)
Good I am pleased to hear that. Hopefully the new pulley I'm getting is the one for the RVR
It is very noticeable that the outsides of the pulleys don't line up. it is a horrible expensive sounding noise though.
Will do the bendy thing if I have to.

Well id shorten it in my backyard lathe.
Which is of course an angle grinder?? or am I doing you a dis-service?

I'm lucky. I have a shed to work in but I have to be sure not to put on too much weight or it would be a bit of a squeeze. (no lathe but I do have a little angle grinder)
if I want to work on the 5 series (which I don't want at the moment) I have to take one of the work benches outside.
