i would have thought the thing that makes all ur vr4s weird is the 4ws

The 4WS makes the back tuck in and stops it sliding - it feels REALLY bad on the track and also stops you being able to feel how hard you can get on the loud pedel mid corner. I've only hill climbed mine a few times, then parked it and took the N/A rally car out which, while stacks slower off the mark, kills the VR4 around the tight corners.

All 4WDs will naturaly understeer, you are trying to put the same amount of power down front and back and on top of that asking the front tyres to change direction at the same time - simple physics twice as much load, same amount of friction available. You can get around it with REALLY stiff rear roll control (either springs or swaybar, or both) but that will make the car an accident waiting to happen as it will most likely oversteer just when you don't want it to, active diffs which will limit power to the front when they are trying to turn and then loading it up when they can get grip again (this is the only really affective way and hence its what the rally guys with more money then god do) or simply drive very agressivley and force the back to break before the front - which is ok on the track, but you're likely to kill someone if you try it on the road because it takes a lot of practice to do it right everytime.

FWIW - With good suspension tuning and an approprite level of agressivenes behind the wheel you can get it to the point its not an issue, but I know guys with a $1500 Proflex strut on each corner and balls the size of watermellons who still haven't got it spot on.

yeah i think its just a very wierd feeling and have by no means perfected it but it would be a good day if we could hire out a skid pad or something because they water it up and stuff mabye a idea for the next cruize :D
