wheel fitment

4GTuner

Help Support 4GTuner:

I have a set of enkei tarmac 17x8.5 +35 with 215/45 tyres on them. They fit... Mostly LOL... The fronts scrub on the guards when turning hard (this may be to do with my busted swaybar)... And the backs scrub (guards just need rolling)
Oh and I'm just running standard camber

Oh and this is on my gsr with evo guards my

Pics???

Here it is with standard GSR guards:

They are 215x45s on a 8.5" rim. Yes they are stretched, but they scrub so anything wider would be worse. Once i flare the guards I'll get some wider tires

I wouldnt run a 215 on anything but 40 series (17's) on a GSR. 215/45 is too much they will always scrub. 215/40 will too on the turning but not as bad. Rears should be no problem at all, but do the tab removal mod.
Have a search on the forum there is a lot of info on these topics already

do 17 x 8.5 inch wide fit a gsr okay? i can roll the gaurds but will it be enough?

Have you seen my car with the tarmacs on? (8in wide)
I have them in the garage if you want to come over and dummy fit them to yours (while I hold the shotgun so you dont go anywhere :p ) if you want to...

Im free today....

EDIT: Check this out from tech stickies: http://www.4gtuner.c...nce-calculator/

Always good to use the tech stickies AND the search function!

Im running 215/40/17's in a Yoko AD08 on my 17x7 buddyclubs. low on the side walls compared to other 40's and buldge slightly on the walls, but would be perfect on a 7.5".

If Hankook had a 40 I'd give them a go.
the 215/40/17 KU36's I had scrubbed a bit (17x7 Tarmacs) at the height I had and had to raise the car to ear standard height to fit without scrubbing.

Okay we'll I'm looking at buying a set of Evo 7 enkei lightweight rims. They. Are 17 x 8 with 235 45 17 . Will these scrub like nuts or can I just roll the gaurds and be A OK . Also only had standard height springs in atm

A mate is lookinbg to do 5 stud and brembo's cuase he's not happy with the lack of braking at the track
My question is he's looking at buying a set of Tarmac's @ 17x7 I'm sure these will clear brembo's !
and what size tyre ?

I didn't think the 17x7 Tarmacs would clear the Brembos, but the major factor to clearing the calipers is the spoke design.

I'm running 205/40/17 tyres on my EVO6 OZ rims (17x7.5 +38) without any scrubbing front/rear, but will be looking to upgrade to the EVO8MR BBS rims (17x8 +38) next year with 235/45/17 tyres. We trial fitted this setup on the car and it cleared front/rear no problems.

ENGINR are you running cc gsr rear control arms with EVO6 OZ rims (17x7.5 +38) ?

well i got screwed lol thought 17 x 7.5 with + 32 offset would fit but it seems like im out by 10mm on the rear ie hitting the trailing arms... i dont wanna use spacers so im going to goto our machinist and see if they can "cut" a segment out and weld a new segment in so i dont lose overall strength of change the angle between the mount and the hub stay tuned

they cant be +32 if they hit, are you sure they arent +42? even then it wouldnt be that bad?

Thats more like +52!!!

the rim or they tyre? 17x7.5 +38 have about 6mm to the trailing arm, I figure you should have about 2mm spare?
